The world’s largest private ketch - AQUIJO yacht is a sailor’s dream.
The world’s largest private ketch - AQUIJO yacht is a sailor’s dream.
Full Description
Exterior Design & Engineering
Launched in 2017 as a joint venture between Dutch builders Vitters Shipyard and Oceanco, the 86m sailing yacht required a high level of innovation and creativity to meet the Owner’s brief as the scale of the project surpassed anything that had been seen in the sailing world before.
AQUIJO is a displacement sailing yacht, constructed with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with her exterior design and naval architecture by Tripp Design. At her widest point, AQUIJO spans 14.5m with a draft of 11.6m when her keel is fully extended. Usefully, this draft can reduce to just 5.3m when entering shallower waters.
Powered by twin 1810hp Caterpillar 3512 diesel engines, AQUIJO yacht has a range of 3200nm at a cruising speed of 15 knots and has a top speed of 17.5 knots.
Amenities
AQUIJO yacht has an impressive line-up of luxury amenities – the kind of which are normally only seen on motor yachts.
From the moment you set foot onboard it’s clear this is a peerless sailing yacht, with steps from the oversized swim platform leading up to a large aft deck lounge, perfect for laid-back barbecue days or alfresco evening meals, while L-shaped sofas are arranged around an oval skylight that looks down onto the beach club below.
The beach club is the star of the show - something that no other sail yacht possesses. Located on the lower deck aft, this generous wellness space built with a teak and sculpted wood interior, features a steam bath, sauna, and ocean-view Jacuzzi with direct access to the sea via large glass doors that open to the large swim platform.
Up on the sun deck there is comfortable seating for those who like to enjoy the view from the helm. The sun deck aft features a Jacuzzi with sunpads for more leisurely moments.
AQUIJO yacht also has a guest elevator to all decks, three outdoor bars, and an observation sofa with views of the headsails on the fore deck.
