The Ultimate Valentines: Last Minute Romantic Getaway Ideas for Winter 2024

Forget diamonds and flowers… spoiling your loved ones is all about experiences and unforgettable moments.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, why not shun material gifts in exchange for irreplicable memories with all those you love most? Escape the cold and whisk your nearest and dearest away on one of our last-minute yacht charters and treat them to the most precious thing of all: time together, to relax, laugh and soak up the sunshine.

As the winter season comes to a close and we look ahead to summer in Europe and the Mediterranean, there are still a few end-of-season charters up for grabs on some of our most prestigious yachts.

Whether it’s all about nature and watersports in Costa Rica, island hopping around the Caribbean, or straight-up sunshine in the Bahamas, read on to discover what last-minute deals and discounts can be found.

The Caribbean

There’s nothing quite like sailing around the Caribbean islands to beat the winter blues. Think long, lazy days sipping pina coladas on deck, watching dolphins and diving off the boat into warm, clear waters. It’s not too late to squeeze in a few days of tropical sunshine this winter, and several of Edmiston’s luxurious Caribbean charters have last-minute availability.

65-metre motor yacht RESILIENCE was built specially for the charter market, so has everything you could possibly want: flexible accommodation, a vast beach club, a cinema, and both a pool and jacuzzi. Unlike most yachts on the charter market, Resilience is currently available in the Caribbean with a 25% discount, and can be rented for as little as 4 days this winter season ($487,500/week or $81,250/day).

Stunning Benetti superyacht SILVER ANGEL also has a 15% discount this winter season, and is open to any duration of stay with a special weekly discount ($361,250/week or $60,208/day). An Art Deco theme runs throughout the interiors and exteriors, with glossy black oak panelling, white marble and lots of mirrors setting the tone for a romantic holiday.

AMIGOS sleeps 12 guests across six cabins in the utmost comfort, making this an excellent choice for groups of couples or friends. She is currently in the Caribbean, and has a four-day minimum booking ($49,166/day), meaning a few days of yachting can be tacked onto a longer holiday in the region.

If you want to whisk your partner and children away over Valentine’s Day itself, look no further than PARILLION. With its own pool, cinema, fold-down balcony, gym, beach club, and more, the five-cabin yacht is the perfect base for a glittering charter. Parillion is available in the Caribbean until 22 February with a 20% discount, and again from 29 February to 15 March. There is a four-day minimum booking, giving the ultimate flexibility ($196,000/week or $32,666/day).

ARBEMA is also currently available in the Caribbean right now, with a two-day minimum booking ($100,000/day). Kept solely for private use for over a decade, this 72-metre luxury superyacht offers the best amenities of any charter yacht in her class, including a generous main salon and a full-beam sky lounge.

Last but not least, active families and charter guests will never tire of the possibilities aboard 68-metre catamaran WAYFINDER. She can be booked as a charter yacht in her own right or, more usually, as a support vessel to a mothership. There’s a helipad, which doubles up as a pickleball court when not in use, and a toy box packed with jet skis, paddleboards, sea bobs and more. The endless activities make Wayfinder a great choice for multi-generational families, giving parents some alone time together ($62,500/day).

The Bahamas

Though not technically part of the Caribbean, this cluster of 700+ subtropical islands has all the delights of their neighbouring isles: sugar-white sands, turquoise seas, and endless secluded cays to drop anchor in. Holidays here are about horizontal chilling and soaking up the laid-back vibes.

75-metre ARROW is currently available for charter this February ($150,000/day), and has space for up to 12 guests. Launched in 2020, the yacht has all the trappings to seriously impress that special someone, including a full-beam beach club that converts into a sea-level lounge in the evenings, and a cinema with surround sound.

Elsewhere in the Bahamas, intimate but no-less luxurious LADY VICTORY is a one-of-a-kind luxury superyacht that combines a clever use of space with seriously good taste. Sleeping eight guests across four cabins, there are lots of communal spaces to enjoy and an on-deck hot tub for the ultimate in relaxation. Lady Victory offers a five-day minimum booking ($7,500/day).

Costa Rica

If you’ve always dreamed of exploring Costa Rica’s luscious landscape, the tempting 25% discount on majestic KONTIKI might be just the ticket ($120,000/week or $20,000/day). Serene and luxurious, the 40-metre yacht makes a wonderful base for the adventure of a lifetime, and sleeps up to 18 guests. After action-filled days, you can return onboard and relax in her calming neo-luxury-style lounges and cabins, where natural woods and woven textiles complement a beautiful aesthetic that blends in with the views through the windows.

Panama

If you’re after the ultimate flexibility, 24-metre TURKISH DELIGHT still has availability this winter season in Panama and Costa Rica ($13,333/day). The shallow draught of the elegant catamaran means she can cruise shallower ground and sail to hard-to-reach places in the Caribbean, Central and South America, and is a prime choice for adventure-loving guests.

With a handful of remaining availability this winter season, there are a few discounts and short-term charter deals to be had if you act fast. Click HERE to find your dream winter yacht charter escape.
