Full Description
Exterior Design & Engineering
The custom-designed BUCKPASSER yacht, with her high bow penned by Jack Hargrave, is a luxurious base from which to enjoy autonomous expedition-style cruising.
Launched in 1985 by Hitatchi Zosen and extensively refitted in 2017, BUCKPASSER yacht has been meticulously maintained since, with her aluminium hull repainted during her 2023 refit, followed by the repaint of her aluminium superstructure in 2024.
Originally designed as a mothership to support expedition-style fishing trips for an experienced Owner, BUCKPASSER offers classic good looks and luxurious accommodation for those looking to spend large periods of time at anchor or underway and she can operate without shore support for months at a time.
To this end, BUCKPASSER yacht comes with a large capacity for food storage and can store 13,500 gallons of fuel and 5,000 gallons of water.
Her oversized ground tackle ensures the comfort of guests in even the most remote of anchorages, while her shallow draft allows her to reach waters other yachts can’t.
BUCKPASSER yacht’s detuned 565hp Caterpillar 3508 engines are some of the most robust marine diesel engines ever built and provide over 4000 miles of range effortlessly, with a top speed of 12 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots.
Amenities
For a yacht of her vintage, BUCKPASSER yacht for sale offers lots of amenities that allow guests to embrace luxury life at sea.
The cockpit connects well to the large swim platform, while the restored enclosed aft-deck salon comes with a full bar and cocktail table as well as a built-in L-shaped settee that invites guests to sit down and enjoy the ocean setting.
There is more outdoor seating forward of the deckhouse and a semi-circular bar offering panoramic views on the bridge deck.
Meanwhile, inside, the main salon offers lots of period character and warmth with its varnished teak trim and crown mouldings, with the large windows keeping the connection to the sea as guests unwind reading a book or playing a game of cards in the dedicated area. There is also a separate formal dining area. BUCKPASSER yacht’s open decks are well suited to touch-and-go helipad operations, while cranes enable use of a wide choice of tenders.
