This year’s impressive recovery continues as so far sales are up 82% compared with the same period for 2019
This year has been a phenomenal success for Edmiston, cementing its position as one of the world’s leading yacht brokers, and it’s not over yet.
In the first three quarters of the year, Edmiston recorded sales figures of 1,500 metres of yacht sold, giving the company an 18% share of the global market value for yachts of over 30 metres, with 30% of worldwide yacht sales in the over 50m category.
A spectacular tally, with 31 yachts over 30m sold by Edmiston in the first nine months, compared with 17 for the same period in 2019 – a growth of 82%. With our CAs selling twice as fast as the industry average – our brokers sold the 57m Feadship HALO in just 46 days, the fastest selling 40m+ yacht this year and the 54m Amels 4YOU in just 51 days.
It’s at the top end of the market where Edmiston is particularly strong – almost 40% of the yachts we sold were in the over 50m category, and we have been involved with the sale of three of the five largest yachts sold across the industry this year, including that of the 72m Tankoa-built yacht SOLO.
We are behind nearly 40% of all deals of yachts over €30m in the industry and we have an especially strong record of selling yachts built in Northern Europe, with these accounting for 50% of our sales, including the sale of three Feadships and four Amels yachts.
Broker James Lloyd also oversaw the sale of NORTHERN ESCAPE, the Benetti 40m Oasis hull number 4, which was launched on 21 October 2021, and which will be delivered to her Owner in January 2022 and available to charter through Edmiston in the West Mediterranean in summer 2022.
A second Benetti 40m Oasis is also available for sale through broker Cornelius Gerling with delivery planned for July 2022 and these two yachts are the last two of the range that will be new to market until 2024.
