JOUR DE FETE - Based in Marseille for the summer

Originally built as FALCON in 1930 by renowned yard George Lawley and Sons to a Frank Paine design, JOUR DE FETE is a Q class classic sailing yacht with a successful racing background. Based in Marseille for the summer, she is available for inspection by prior appointment.

Following her participation in the Voiles d'Antibes regatta, JOUR DE FETE will also be present at the Imperia Regatta, from 5 to 9 September, and the Voiles de St Tropez, from 1 to 7 October.

The Q class is historically notable as being the first class design to be built under the Universal Rule, which dates back to 1900 and relates to the formula laid down by design genius N.G. Herreshoff, the peak of which was realised for the America’s Cup and its J Class. The original boats were gaff-rigged, but from the mid 1920s on they were Marconi rigged and set to a slightly longer design.

As for the yacht we see today, in 2007 she was completely rebuilt by well-known classic yacht restorer John Anderson, an English shipwright based in Maine, USA. This fully restored FALCON was then purchased in 2011 by her current Owner who changed her name to JOUR DE FETE.

Since then, she has competed very successfully in the Mediterranean regatta circuit, earning an enviable reputation, not only for an ability to win races, but also for her outstanding condition and beauty.

JOUR DE FETE can accommodate up to four guests sleeping in a bright and inviting interior or can race with up to eight crew on deck.
