Made in the Netherlands – the best Dutch-built yachts

Dutch yacht building is renowned for its pedigree, here are some of the best Dutch yachts to buy or charter

With acclaimed yards such as the Dutch masters Feadship, Oceanco and Heesen, Dutch yachts are considered some of the best in the world.

Known as pedigree yachts, with excellent build quality, technical prowess and exemplary service, there are lots of good reasons for going Dutch and Edmiston has a huge number of Dutch yachts on our books.

Here are some of the best Dutch yachts currently for sale or charter.

Halo

The epitome of contemporary style, the 57m Feadship HALO is built with world cruising in mind and has an unmistakable futuristic exterior design, with the superstructure dissected by two large silver arches. The vast sun deck, with outdoor cinema and oversized Jacuzzi, is one of her biggest selling points but her modern interiors are not to be sniffed at.

Moon Sand

The 44.2m Feadship MOON SAND has the outdoor deck spaces of a yacht 10m longer, which incorporate showstopping features such as a hidden contraflow pool on the main deck aft. Offered for sale in mint condition, having only been used privately, MOON SAND comes with both a full-beam Owner’s suite and a full-beam VIP and boasts Bannenberg & Rowell interiors.

Sunrays

From acclaimed Dutch yard Oceanco and built to a Bjorn Johansson design with interiors by Terence Disdale, every detail of the 85m motor yacht SUNRAYS exudes luxury. There’s a lavish spa, helipad, sun deck with Jacuzzi flanked by loungers and main deck pool, making her a good fit for Owners who like to entertain. She has also proven herself on the charter market and can accommodate a total of 22 guests when used privately.

Her Destiny

The 37.30m Heesen-built motor yacht HER DESTINY is an all-aluminium fast cruising yacht with a top speed of 30 knots, which doesn’t scrimp on onboard comfort. In immaculate condition throughout, her exterior design is by Omega Architects while her minimalist interiors, which include a versatile five-cabin layout, are the work of Laura Pomponi.

Deja too

From the classic Tigre d’Or series, the 52m Amels-built motor yacht DEJA TOO was designed by Terence Disdale and was beautifully refitted in 2018, leaving her in immaculate condition. With timeless interiors and exteriors, she can accommodate 11+1 guests across six cabins, including a full-beam Owner’s suite on the main deck forward.

Hyperion

Built by respected Dutch shipyard Royal Huisman, HYPERION sailing yacht is in the best shape of her life following a strict ongoing maintenance program. Built for a technology pioneer and experienced yachtsman, HYPERION is both capable of cruising the world in style and winning cups at regattas.

Lady Victoria

Remarkably, the 36.45m 1991 motor yacht LADY Victoria has only had two Owners since new and is still one of the most appealing classic Feadships on the water. Used sparingly and meticulously maintained, she is in excellent condition, following her most recent refit in 2019. Operational with minimal crew requirements, she still provides the opulence and luxury of a much bigger yacht.

Dojo

The classic 45.72m Feadship DOJO was built in 1981 by the De Vries Shipyard to the designs of the legendary Jon Bannenberg, yet thanks to a consistent history of upgrades, she is far from showing her age. Undoubtedly one of the best rebuilds of this era of Feadship, DOJO comes with five luxurious cabins and a brand-new swimming pool with easy access to the water.

Itasca

Originally built in 1961 by J&K Smit of the Netherlands as an ocean-going tug, ITASCA yacht has been successfully converted into a private yacht with a go-anywhere range of 13,000nm. Her sea-keeping capabilities are exceptional, having circumnavigated the globe four times, and she offers stylish and comfortable accommodation for up to 10 guests.

Menorca

The 1961 48.51m Botje Ensing-built yacht MENORCA offers eternal elegance with her canoe stern and is looking good as new following a 2020 refit.

Inside, there’s a Hamptons-style level of sophistication, which continues outside to her generous sun deck, which alludes to her glamorous history, during which she has hosted royal guests and celebrities on board.
