The 65th edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2024 (FLIBS) will be held in its namesake city on the southeast Florida coast from 30 October to 3 November 2024, and as the largest US yacht show, it’s a highlight of the yachting calendar and reflects the region’s affinity for the boating lifestyle.
Run by the Marine Industries Association of South Florida (MIASF), the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show will feature an estimated 1,300 boats, with 1,000 exhibiting brands, and have a global economic impact of over $1.79bn.
FLIBS is expected to attract over 100,000 visitors across its five days, who will come to browse its enormous 3 million square feet of exhibition space spread across seven sites. This includes the Broward County Convention Center, the Bahia Mar Yachting Center, Las Olas Marina, 17th Street Yacht Basin, Pier 66 Marina, the Hall of Fame Marina, and of course, the most premium area of all: the Superyacht Village at Pier 66 South, where over 200 superyachts from 100ft to 236ft will be on display.

This year, Edmiston will also be bringing six exceptional yachts to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat show.
The 58m Feadship W presents in as-new condition following an 11-month stint in the Netherlands yard. During her refit, she had a Jacuzzi added to her sun deck, was given two extra cabins to accommodate a total of 12 guests, and had a redesign of her interior spaces to complement her vast deck areas.

AMIGOS is a 55m Amels yacht that offers excellent amenities, including a four-metre counter-current pool on the sun deck, a chic beach club, and a cinema under the stars. Plus, with room onboard for 13 crew serving a total of 12 guests, there is a dedicated 1:1 crew ratio.
46m MOATIZE will also be in attendance, – the first superyacht ever to be built by the British yard Pendennis, which has been wonderfully looked after since her launch in 1999 and was given an extensive refit in 2019/2020.

What’s new at FLIBS 2024?
The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show plans to set new standards of sustainability in the yacht show sphere. It’s on target to become a zero-waste, net-zero carbon business by 2030 and its brand-new Las Olas Marina, which is Clean and Resilient Marina Program-certified, has been designed in such a way that it will help protect the Fort Lauderdale area from rising sea levels.
This new part of the FLIBS will also provide more berths for superyachts, create a waterfront destination for yacht-show visitors thanks to its high-end restaurants and boutiques, and bring over 1,000 new jobs to the local community.
Aside from the new multi-million dollar marina complex, many VIP experiences will be hosted throughout FLIBS 2024, including the Fort Lauderdale Concours, which takes place within the Superyacht Village on 1 November from 6pm to 10pm, and will include a showcase of iconic and rare classic cars, accompanied by music, cocktails and canapes.
Guide to Fort Lauderdale
Taking place in the heart of the Sunshine State, just 30 miles north of Miami, a visit to Fort Lauderdale also offers the opportunity to explore some of the nautical attractions beyond the show.
In Fort Lauderdale itself there are obviously some wonderful places to soak up the sunshine lifestyle after a day at the show, whether on the beach or the promenade.
If you’ve not had your fill of cocktails at one of the show’s famous floating lounges, then head over to Lulu’s Bait Shack – a laid-back hangout with a Cajun-Creole vibe.
Since opening in 2022 in the Four Seasons Hotel and Residences, Evelyn’s has set the bar high for Mediterranean-inspired dishes with a fun Florida twist, while Casa D’Angelo’s with its comprehensive wine list and perfectly turned out upscale Italian dishes is a failsafe option.
For a luxurious modern hotel, the Four Seasons with its floor-length windows offering unbroken ocean views is hard to beat, while Lago Mar offers some old-world glamour.
And when the boat show is over for another year, why not extend your stay and charter a yacht to explore the network of canals, sandbars and rivers nearby that make Fort Lauderdale such a fantastic cruising destination.
The crystalline waters of Miami are a short cruise away, while the myriad isles of the Bahamas are also within hopping distance for those looking for a winter yacht charter in the Caribbean.
