As the Global Champions League’s (GCL) 2023 season gets underway, Edmiston is proud to announce that we are sponsoring the Paris Panthers’ horse-riding team
Once more we’ll be cheering the Paris Panthers through each of the competition stages, which will take place in 16 spectacular venues across the world over the coming months.
With the first stage of the competition in Doha now complete, and the Paris Panthers sitting in fourth position, the team, owned by Jennifer Gates, is on target to better its final 5th position standing in the overall GCL Championship last year, and achieve podium glory in both the 2023 Championship race and the GCL Super Cup.
The GCL, part of the Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) circuit, brings together the best horse and rider combinations across the world who compete in teams made up of different nationalities, with each team including an Under 25 rider to support young talent in the sport.
In each competition there are two rounds, enabling the managers to switch tactics, riders, and horses, depending on how they are doing, and in 2023, for the first time both these rounds will take place on the same day, helping to build excitement for spectators in each nail-biting competition.
At the end of the series, the teams will battle it out to see who will be crowned overall winner in the GCL Super Cup.

New members of the team this year include Jur Vrieling, who has consistently shown his riding prowess, and the Under-25s competitor, Nataline Dean.
The next stage of the competition takes place on Miami Beach from 12-15 April followed by Mexico City from 20-23 April. Edmiston clients who would like to support the Paris Panthers at this event should contact their Edmiston broker for tickets.
