Edmiston celebrates 2022 successes and looks forward to 2023

With an impressive sales record, several new construction orders, and positive charter bookings for the year ahead, Edmiston prepares to sail into 2023

It’s been another buoyant year at Edmiston, with 73 yachts sold over 30m since 2021, and more sales and charter successes on the horizon.

Notable sales in 2022 include the timeless 59m Oceanco yacht HELIOS – one of the fastest selling yachts over 50m this year, which sold in just 185 days – and the 58m Royal Huisman yacht TWIZZLE, the fastest selling pedigree sailing yacht of the year as she was sold in just 116 days.

Both these yacht sales were the result of in-house deals, in fact 40% of our yacht sales were in-house deals this year, showing once more that we go above and beyond for our clients.

And with 30% of our sales off-market deals, Edmiston’s expert brokers continue to prove their dedication in exploring their networks to find the perfect yachts for our clients.

Other notable yacht sales this year include the 56m Perini Navi cruising ketch ZENJI, a 55m Amels, the 55m ISA yacht FOREVER ONE, and the 45M Sanlorenzo H1.

The CAs sold by Edmiston this year were on the market for an average of 269 days, less than half of the global market average.

In terms of charter, our brokers have been busy managing bookings, which have already surpassed last year’s impressive decade’s worth of bookings, notching up almost 12 years’ worth of charter bookings across the fleet.

In 2022 we welcomed lots of new CAs to our charter fleet, including the 90m Oceanco DAR, which offers next-level luxury; the multi-award-winning 72m yacht SOLO from Tankoa; the 57m Feadship HALO, which comes with a new specialist crew; the 56m Benetti JAGUAR, which has been fully refreshed for 2023; and the brand-new to charter 46m yacht PIONEER from Palmer Johnson.

Two yachts completed their first charter seasons since delivery this summer, the 41m Benetti Oasis NORTHERN ESCAPE, and the 65m ISA yacht RESILIENCE.

Those looking to book a Med charter in 2023 will want to get in there fast with the 55m Amels yacht AMIGOS, which comes with a large beach club and extended sun deck. Meanwhile, 46m NADAN from Burger Yachts will add some old-school glamour to your charter holiday.

Following the unprecedented year that was 2021, the superyacht business is still busy and remains healthy across the brokerage, charter, and new construction markets.

Alex Koersvelt, Edmiston’s Commercial Director, says: “Although the winter season has been calmer, we are seeing positive early charter bookings for summer 2023, indicating this could be a very busy season ahead. Furthermore, with several deals in the pipeline, we are optimistic about what 2023 will bring.”
