COCOON is a 37.8m motor yacht delivered by Moonen Yachts in the Netherlands in 2023. The fourth hull in the shipyard’s award-winning Martinique series, she brings together Dutch build pedigree, purposeful engineering and a distinctly Scandinavian approach to interior design. At 345GT, her generous volume is particularly apparent inside, with thoughtfully connected living spaces making COCOON feel considerably larger than her length suggests.
Designed equally for entertaining and time away with family, COCOON places a strong emphasis on indoor-outdoor living. Three expansive exterior decks, an integrated winter garden and bridge deck aft, and panoramic windows across the main and bridge decks create an unusually close connection with her surroundings, while her range and capability make her equally suited to extended cruising.
Full Description
Exterior design & Engineering
COCOON is a full-displacement motor yacht with exterior design by award-winning Dutch designer René van der Velden. Her profile combines substantial proportions with clean, contemporary lines and extensive glazing across the main and bridge decks. A steel hull and aluminium superstructure provide a robust foundation, complemented by teak decks and an 8m beam that contributes to her generous interior and exterior spaces.
Twin Caterpillar C32 engines, each producing 1,924Hp, give COCOON a top speed of 16.5 knots and a cruising speed of 14.5 knots. At an economical speed of 10 knots, she has a range of 4,000 nautical miles, giving her the capability for extended cruising. CMC Marine stabilisers further enhance comfort underway.
Amenities
Life on board COCOON is centred around three substantial exterior decks, each offering a different way to experience time at sea. The sun deck takes full advantage of 360-degree views, with a spacious open-air lounge creating a relaxed setting for days in the sun, while a well-equipped bar and grill make the deck equally suited to entertaining.
The bridge deck is designed around effortless indoor-outdoor living. Large sliding glass doors seamlessly connect the winter garden with the bridge deck aft, creating one expansive entertaining space. Inside, the lounge provides a comfortable retreat, complete with a 100-inch television.
The main deck continues this emphasis on space and light. Inside, a large salon sits alongside the formal dining area, with panoramic windows drawing the surroundings into the yacht. A substantial galley and the Master suite are also located on this deck. Aft, a further lounge offers another space to relax, with stairs leading down to the swimming platform and easy access to the water.
At lower-deck level, COCOON's Hydromar Seascape swimming platform brings guests closer to the water, while a hydraulic passerelle positioned aft provides convenient access when alongside.
Interior Design
COCOON yacht’s interiors were created by Swedish studio Andreas Martin-Löf Arkitekter, bringing a Scandinavian sensibility to the yacht's substantial volume. The approach is calm and residential rather than overtly nautical, using a restrained palette of pale neutral tones alongside warm timber joinery, natural-looking textiles and softly textured upholstery. Curved furniture and sculptural pieces introduce character without overwhelming the spaces, while carefully integrated lighting adds warmth after dark. Expansive windows remain central to the design, filling the main living areas with natural light and keeping the surrounding landscape constantly in view.
Accommodation is arranged across five cabins, comprising one Master, two VIP cabins and two twin cabins. The main-deck Master suite includes a generous his and hers bathroom, while the remaining guest accommodation offers a versatile arrangement for families and groups of friends. Separate accommodation is provided for up to seven crew.
