Commissioned by the motor-car industry mogul Henry Ford II, SANTA MARIA motor yacht was once the most expensive Feadship in the world.

With naval architecture by De Voogt, SANTA MARIA yacht is a 33m Feadship that has maintained her good looks thanks to a continual and consistent program of updates.

Exterior Design & Engineering

SANTA MARIA yacht’s story is the stuff of legend. In 1961 the young designer Frits de Voogt was summoned to New York to meet Henry Ford II in his grand 5th Avenue apartment.

There the pair discussed the mogul’s desire to commission a new Feadship, having been wowed by Malcolm Forbes’ HIGHLANDER yacht. Evidently, discussions went well as two weeks later Ford commissioned the 32.9m yacht SANTA MARIA and its launch two years after that heralded a turning point in the Dutch yard’s popularity within American society.

Since then, SANTA MARIA yacht for sale has been impeccably well looked after. During her most recent refits, she has undergone numerous upgrades including new generators (2023), new electric zero-speed stabilizers (2021) and new main engines (2019). Vast parts of the steel hull plating have been replaced over the last 12 months, and many other substantial improvements and maintenance have been carried out to ensure the vessel continues to turn heads in every marina.

Part of the Feadship Heritage Fleet of yachts, today SANTA MARIA yacht for sale combines classic lines with modern capabilities.

Powered by twin 2019 installed engines, SANTA MARIA yacht has a top speed of 13 knots, with a range of 2100nm at a cruising speed of 11 knots. She also comes with electric CMC Marine Zero Speed stabilisers, new in 2021.

Amenities

As the first SANTA MARIA yacht Owner, Henry Ford II designed this luxury superyacht to be a “place like home” and that atmosphere still pervades today.

Inside, the salon has plenty of space for lounging as well as a separate area to come together with the family for meals.

For alfresco dining, there is a table on the aft deck and a C-shaped sofa aft, which is a wonderful place for pre-dinner drinks.

Up on the vast sun deck there is lots of space for loungers, and bean bags, with more covered dining and a Jacuzzi.

Interior Design

At the time of launch, SANTA MARIA yacht for sale’s interior design, which had a distressed look inspired by an old chateau, was like nothing that had ever been seen before. French interiors designer, Jacques Frank, was behind the look and his creation set a trend for employing home designers to bring their aesthetic into the yacht environment.

Though many original features, such as cabinetry and teak decks have been retained, SANTA MARIA yacht’s interiors have evolved over time.

The varnished wooden floorboards in the main salon and cream L-shaped sofa still give a homely feel, while statement animal print wallpaper in the cabins and plush midnight-blue carpets add a contemporary slant.

SANTA MARIA yacht can accommodate 10 guests across five cabins, including a spacious Owner’s suite, three double cabins and a twin. She also accommodates up to six crew.

Toys & Tenders

SANTA MARIA motor yacht comes with a 6.20m Ribeye tender plus lots of water toys, including a wakeboard, a Seabob, two double water-skis, two full Scuba diving kits, plus lots of wetsuits, buoyancy jackets and ski ropes.
