New 78M Feadship HAMPSHIRE II presented to the public
Following the traditional launch ceremony at the shipyard on 14th April, the new Feadship MY HAMPSHIRE II came into public view for the first time yesterday, 9th May as she emerged from the Royal van Lent build shed in Holland.
The 78.5m yacht will now undergo dock and sea trials, prior to delivery in July 2012.
As Jacqui Lyne, Director of Edmiston Yacht Management, says, “Today is another exciting milestone in this project, which we have managed since the first design concepts were drawn up in 2007. Working as a team with Feadship and the designers, Redman Whitely Dixon, we are proud to be delivering a superb yacht, custom built to meet the owner’s individual passions for classic design, sports and adventure”.
As reports on the Launch Ceremony made clear, Hampshire II features include a classic interior with hand-crafted mahogany panelling, a crow’s nest for panoramic views, a beach club designed to facilitate the owner’s passion for windsurfing and sailing, and a helicopter deck which converts to a netted playing field for basketball, tennis, baseball, badminton …
For the Edmiston New Build Project Management team Hampshire II is the second of a series of major new build projects in collaboration with Feadship, This series includes a 99m motor yacht currently under construction, and the 77.7m MY TANGO delivered in July 2011, which has just won the prestigious World Superyacht 2012 Motor Yacht of the Year award.
