Sailing yacht TWIZZLE turned heads when she was delivered in 2010, winning Show Boats Design Awards for the best interior design and best recreational area – and the ISS Best Superyacht Interior Design Award and Best Sailing Yacht Design Award.
This displacement cruising ketch cuts an elegant line in the water, designed to excel at all wind speeds and in all directions. She bridges the gap between a technically brilliant racer and a comfortable family yacht.
Dubois Naval Architects designed a swing daggerboard that increases the 3.8m draught to 11 metres, which can be lowered even when the yacht is sailing at full speed.
The rig, manufactured by Southern Spars NZ, consists of custom carbon fibre masts and rollaway carbon booms. The main, mizzen and blade sails, designed by North Sails, were replaced in 2022.
An extensive refit was completed in winter 2020/2021, including; work to the engines, generators, repainting of the hull and superstructure, new teak decking, stepping of the masts, a full service of the rigging and completion of the Lloyd’s 10-year survey. She is now on the market in exceptional condition and ready to cross oceans with ease.
Unusually for sailing yachts of this size, TWIZZLE features a raised pilot-house which results in an additional forward-facing guest area and creates two separate social spaces. She also features two separate cockpits; a private owner’s cockpit with access to the owner’s cabin, and a large guest cockpit which flows seamlessly into the main salon, creating an indoor-outdoor space ideal for big groups. Her forward-facing salon is a flexible space that can function as indoor dining area, lounge or cinema. In total there are three separate areas for dining onboard and the main deck exterior dining features overhead heating for use in cold climes. Al fresco dining option can be found on TWIZZLE’s flybridge along seating and sunbathing areas.
Interior designers Redman Whiteley Dixon and Todhunter Earle have fitted the salon with natural tones and a stylish, contemporary décor, using materials such as acid-washed oak, polished marbles, soft leathers and cashmere. The vast, wrap-around windows create an illusion of the coach roof floating above the main deck and allow the main salon to be flooded with light.
A full beam master cabin (complete with ensuite bathtub and separate shower, a walk-in closet and an adjacent study), two spacious doubles and one twin cabin with a Pullman means TWIZZLE can accommodate 9 guests. All of the cabins have ensuite showers and full media suites including Apple TV. She is also capable of carrying up to 11 crew onboard.
2 x jet tenders are stored in concealed flush hatches forward of the main mast. 2 x Laser Pico sailing dinghies, 2 x Bic Oassou kayaks, water-skis, wakeboards, diving and snorkelling equipment and a Bauer diving compressor are stored in the large lazarette.
