Capitalising on a growth area in the brokerage market, Edmiston has recently welcomed several stunning 60m+ superyachts to its fleet.
Edmiston’s Adam Moorey, Head of Business Intelligence, says there has been notable upturn in this segment of the market.
“The 60m-70m category is the standout growth area in 2023,” he says, “with more yachts of this size sold so far this year than of any year on record.”
Yachts that have recently joined the Edmiston fleet that will no doubt draw lots of interest from buyers include the decadent 80m Y701 yacht from Oceanco. With its stunning Owner’s deck, four VIP cabins, and glass-backed sundeck pool, broker Charles Carveles says she “raises the bar” when it comes to family cruising.
Offered for sale for the first time since delivery, the 1993 60m Feadship LADY BEATRICE by the legendary Jon Bannenberg has recently seen her price drop, which broker Simon Goldsworthy says is sure to pique the interest of many as she offers the “chance to own a pedigree yacht that has been continuously updated and comes with palatial and pristine interiors.”
Meanwhile, VENTUM MARIS, the 66m Amels 212 from the Dutch yard’s limited-edition series, is offered in turnkey condition, and with her touch-and-go helipad and custom Yachtwerft tenders, broker Tomaso Polli describes her as the “pinnacle of luxury.”
“The growth in the 60m-70m segment appears to be due to a combination of a keen market and good inventory available, while yachts in the 80m+ category are also performing well”, says Robert Shepherd.
Shepherd says: “With the 83.5m yacht SAVANNAH – Feadship’s first-ever hybrid superyacht – and the 65.7m Amels yacht VENTUM MARIS both new to market, potential buyers will want to get in their quick before they’re snapped up.”
In terms of the rest of the market, figures are looking compared with 2019 and we forecast a return to growth consistent with the market prior to the pandemic.
