An evolution of the yard’s 47m sloop, this brand-new yacht heralds a new era for Perini Navi
Currently in build and ready for delivery to her new Owner by late 2024, the futuristic Perini Navi 47-M is a fast displacement sloop, which comes with a new generation of hull lines that will improve both comfort and performance under sails.
The Perini Navi 47-M is a redesign of the pedigree yard’s 47-metre sloop but with some innovative new features, including a carbon fibre mast, a newly engineered keel, and short-handed operation capabilities – making her suitable for both round-the-world sailing and regatta racing.
Her four-cabin layout with a full-beam Owner’s cabin that comes with a convertible studio offers flexible accommodation and makes her a perfect platform for both family cruising and charter use.
This, combined with her easy access to the sea – The Perini Navi 47-M has a draft of just 3.9m when the keel is up – and the trustworthiness of the Perini Navi brand, make her a hugely appealing yacht to Owners who want a brand-new yacht with a short delivery turnaround and the possibility to add their own mark.
The Italian Sea Group, who acquired the build when it bought Perini Navi in late 2021, says: “With her wide-open stern and a generous flybridge, which is unique for a yacht of this size, the Perini Navi 47-M offers an ideal opportunity for Buyers moving from motor yachts to sailing yachts who don’t wish to compromise on volume.”
The original contract for the Perini Navi 47-M was terminated prior to The Italian Sea Group’s purchase of the yard, but The Italian Sea Group invested in the project and decided to keep building the yacht on spec.
The design of both the exteriors and the hull lines are by Perini Navi’s in-house team, drawing on the expertise they have built up over the past 30 years.
The design brief was to custom design a sloop rig Panamax yacht with modern lines that would emphasise the connection between the inside and outside with extensive glazing and up-to-date naval architecture. Finally, it was to be one of the largest flybridges in its category.
