The superyacht brokerage market settled into a more measured pace during the first half of 2026. By the end of June, the number of yachts sold had fallen by 13% compared with the same period last year, making it one of the quietest Junes in recent years.
The change in transaction value has been considerably less pronounced. Total market value is down by 7%, reflecting continued activity at the upper end of the market, where pedigree and recently delivered yachts continue to command strong values. Viewed over the longer term, the sector continues to operate from a much larger base. The value of transactions completed during the first half of 2026 exceeds that of the entire brokerage market in 2018.
The contrast between volume and value suggests a market that is becoming more selective rather than less active, with buyers continuing to compete for the strongest opportunities.
Edmiston in the market
Against this backdrop, Edmiston completed 21 transactions involving yachts over 30 metres during the first half of the year, with 15 sales completed over the past 15 weeks. Those sales represent a combined yacht length of nearly 1,200 metres and more than €1.1 billion in transaction value.
Transactions ranged from landmark deals such as the 100m Feadship MOONRISE to the 50m Heesen DAISY D, highlighting the breadth of activity across the market. Ten of the yachts sold exceeded 50 metres, while three measured more than 90 metres, reflecting continued demand in the largest and most complex segment of the market.

The figures also reinforce where Edmiston continues to operate most successfully. As activity becomes increasingly concentrated around the very best yachts, experience, relationships and market intelligence remain decisive.
Expanding the charter fleet
The charter portfolio has also welcomed one of the year’s most significant additions. Delivered at the end of June, the 102-metre Lürssen NIXIE joins Edmiston as an exclusive central agency.

Her arrival strengthens an already exceptional charter fleet and reflects continued demand for world-class experiences aboard the largest yachts. As one of the most important new deliveries to enter the charter market this season, NIXIE further reinforces Edmiston’s position in the upper tier of global yacht charter.
Looking ahead
The first half of 2026 has shown a market placing increasing value on quality, timing and scarcity. Those fundamentals are expected to remain in focus as attention turns to the autumn show season.
The Cannes Yachting Festival and Monaco Yacht Show traditionally mark one of the busiest periods in the brokerage calendar, bringing together owners, buyers and brokers as activity gathers pace after the summer.

With a strong fleet represented across both events, Edmiston looks forward to another busy show season and the conversations, viewings and transactions it will bring.
