Full Description
Exterior Design & Engineering
Designed by Sparkman & Stephens, KNICKERBOCKER is a powerful displacement cruising ketch with timeless, traditional lines. Her white aluminium hull and superstructure are complemented by a varnished teak deckhouse and TDS teak decks, creating an elegant and purposeful profile. Long overhangs, graceful sheer lines and a commanding ketch rig define her classic appearance, while wide side decks and a sheltered pilothouse enhance both comfort and practicality for extended cruising.
Under power, KNICKERBOCKER is driven by a 400 Hp Caterpillar 3406B diesel engine, delivering a top speed of 12 knots and a cruising speed of 9.5 knots. Extensive engineering upgrades and maintenance works completed during recent refits ensure she remains highly capable for long-range cruising.
Amenities
The sheltered pilothouse combines practical functionality with relaxed onboard living, featuring an integrated dining area, additional seating, a stainless-steel steering wheel and twin adjustable leather helm seats. An impressive array of navigation instrumentation is set within a blue leather dash, while overhead hatches provide natural light and sail visibility during extended cruising.
Descending into the main salon, the interior is warm, elegant and classically styled. Curved settees surround a gimballed oval coffee table to port, while opposite, a formal dining area for eight is centred around a high-gloss black walnut table inlaid with cherry, ebony and brass. Excellent storage is incorporated throughout, while ambient lighting, opening overhead hatches and integrated entertainment systems enhance comfort during extended cruising.
Forward, the professional galley is well equipped for extended cruising, finished with maple cabinetry, white Corian worktops and custom ceramic detailing. Premium Miele appliances, flexible refrigeration systems and generous preparation areas support efficient onboard service, with adjacent crew areas arranged for practical day-to-day operation.
Interior Design
The interior of KNICKERBOCKER was designed by John Munford and remains a superb example of traditional yacht craftsmanship executed to an exceptional standard. Finished throughout in hand-selected American cherry, the interior combines warmth, elegance and enduring quality, with intricate joinery and detailing showcased across every living space. Teak and holly soles, exposed wooden beams and gold-plated fittings reinforce the yacht’s classic character, creating an atmosphere that feels both refined and welcoming.
Accommodation is arranged for six guests across three beautifully appointed cabins. The Master cabin is finished in American cherry with teak and holly soles and centred around an adjustable king-size berth, complemented by a Corian and marble ensuite bathroom, generous storage and direct access to the aft deck.
Forward of the master are two mirror-image guest cabins, each configured with twin single berths and private ensuite bathrooms finished with white marble and inlaid Corian detailing. Rich timber finishes, gold fittings and integrated storage continue the yacht’s classic and elegant character throughout the guest accommodation.
