AMAZONE presents an exceptionally rare opportunity to acquire the last surviving, unrestored pre-war motor yacht project of her size.
Built in 1936 by the renowned John I. Thornycroft yard in Southampton, AMAZONE is a true one-off and an irreplaceable piece of British yachting heritage. Her elegant hull and provenance place her firmly among the most significant historic motor yachts ever constructed in the UK.
Over the past five decades, AMAZONE has led a varied and interesting life. Most recently, she served as a private houseboat on the Seine just outside Paris, before being acquired by her current owner and shipped to Pendennis in Falmouth with a clear and ambitious vision for her future.
Since her arrival at Pendennis, all non-original superstructure has been removed and the interior completely stripped back to the hull. This decisive early work has transformed AMAZONE into a rare blank canvas, preserving her historically important structure while allowing for a full, uncompromised rebuild.
With Pendennis poised to progress the restoration in collaboration with G L Watson, the incoming owner has the opportunity to shape every element of the yacht to their exact brief. This is not simply a restoration project, but the chance to breathe new life into a remarkable pre-war motor yacht, reimagined for the modern era while respecting her exceptional heritage.
AMAZONE offers something increasingly rare: authenticity, provenance and the freedom to create something truly unique. She stands apart from anything else currently available on the water, representing a once-in-a-generation opportunity for an ambitious owner to bring an extraordinary yacht back to life.
Project costings will depend on the final design and interior specification. Should this opportunity be of interest, please get in touch to discuss proposed design concepts and indicative costs in more detail.
